More Than a Matching Game

Students find and match pairs of French icons while developing visual recognition, memory and cultural knowledge.

Once a pair has been found, students can read the short description to learn more about the icon. This turns a simple matching activity into an opportunity to build students’ knowledge and understanding of France and French culture.

The cards can also be used as prompts for class discussion, encouraging students to identify what they see, share what they already know and discover why each person, place or symbol is significant.
